Women's Ministries Purpose
To encourage spiritual growth, personal development and leadership among women; and to contribute to the general welfare of the home, church, community and world. To encourage spiritual growth, personal development and leadership among women; and to contribute to the general welfare of the home, church, community and world.
Women have been a vital part of the ongoing ministry of the Church of God since its humble beginnings in the rugged Unicoi Mountains. Their ministries now reach around the world with a multiplicity of emphases and focuses…including prayer, Bible study, local and world missions, covenant team ministry (providing assistance to mission states and regions), benevolence, prison outreach, ministry to both young girls and senior adults, fund-raising, printed resource materials, and social issues that affect women.
Women’s Ministries endeavors to create an atmosphere where women can realize spiritual maturity and fellowship, develop their leadership skills, and minister in the local church, their community and the world.
Dedicated women are making a significant difference in their world by their commitment to devote their time, talents and finances to promote the goals enunciated in the Women’s Ministries statement of purpose.
Women are encouraged to accept their responsibility as women of God who will offer themselves as living sacrifices, acceptable and pleasing to God; be devoted to one another in love, honoring one another above themselves; serve God and their church with zeal, keeping their spiritual fervor; joyfully hope; be patient in affliction and faithful in prayer; share with God’s people who are in need; and practice hospitality. The verses found in Romans 12:1, 10-13 are the foundations for these aspirations. Women are also encouraged to be committed to teaching the younger women, as outlined in Titus 2:4.
Caring For Kids Outreach Ministry
This is an ongoing ministry with our local church. RPCOG has developed a relationship with Guiding Hand School (MRDD). We adopt the precious students of the school and provide Christmas toys from the children's wish list. The entire church gets involved by taking names from the Christmas tree.
